In this paper the results of a floristic survay of Mt. Navegna (Carseolani Mounts, north-west Latium) are presented, carried out from the year 2001 to 2004. The study site extends over 11,5 square km between 538 and 1508 m a.s.l. Lithology is mainly made of limestone formations and Latium-Abruzzi Flysch. As for the climate, this area belongs to the temperate region. The prevalent types of vegetation consists mainly of woodlands and montane pastures. The floristic index includes 917 entities, belonging to 897 species, 418 genera and 88 families. Some are interesting because very rare (Asplenium adiantum-nigrum subsp. adiantum-nigrum, Cerastium sylvaticum, Chrysosplenium alternifolium, Onobrychis alba subsp. alba, Erodium alpinum, Viola kitaibeliana, Lysimachia punctata, Valerianella pumila, Myosotis incrassata, Veronica praecox, Leontodon autumnalis, Hordeum secalinum, Gagea bohemica, G. pusilla, and others), confirmed (Daphne alpina subsp. alpina, Veronica praecox, Thymus praecox subsp. praecox and Galeopsis pubescens) or new (Primula x tommasini) to the flora of Latium. The biological spectrum underlines a predominance of hemicryptophytes (41,6%), in accordance with the geological and climatical feautures of the area. The chorological spectrum shows a prevalence of Eurasiatic (29,9%) element, followed by Mediterranean element (26,7%), in accordance with the climate and geographical location of Mt. Navegna.
