his paper proposes an analysis of Rosario Castellanos's two dramatic poems, Salomé and Judith, within the framework of 50s Mexican literature, as intertextual works that transform the meaning of the two main characters, suggesting a feminist interpretation. Using Genette's theory of intertextuality and some feminist theological reinterpretations, a differentiation between the two poems is proposed, based on the evolution of Castellanos's poetics.
