T he essay aims to analyze certain Late Antique imperial measures, beginning with an epistula from Alexander Severus, which led to the creation of the querela inofficiosae donationis, a legal action intended to reduce donations that prevented heirs from receiving their portio debita. This development occurred in a context marked by the emergence of legal institutions, such as the fictitious reunion, the collatio of the donation, and the imputatio ex se, all aimed at bringing inter vivos liberalities within the scope of succession law.
