The use of lasers in dentistry has progressively increased, thanks to their selective and minimally invasive clinical benefits. However, the highly energetic nature of laser radiation poses significant health and safety risks, requiring the implementation of specific preventive and protective measures. This study aims to identify critical issues related to the use of laser devices in dental practice, with a particular focus on the level of awareness and actual implementation of safety measures by practitioners. With this goal, a questionnaire/checklist was developed and administered to 54 Italian dentists, aiming to investigate their knowledge, adopted practices, and risk perception associated with laser use. The results highlight the need to promote certified training programs and more rigorous risk management strategies to ensure technically effective and safe use of laser technology in dentistry.

Abstract
The results highlight the need to promote certified training programs and more rigorous risk management strategies to ensure technically effective and safe use of laser technology in dentistry.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
