Da San Salvatore in corte a Santa Maria della luce. Vicende costruttive e riscontri diagnostici su una chiesa romana

The article illustrates the campaign of instrumental surveys conducted in the church of S. Maria della Luce in Rome, as part of the CHANGES, Spoke 5, Science and technologies for sustainable diagnostics of cultural heritage project. The survey is included in the general goal of developing shared protocols for the expedited diagnostics aimed at the study and knowledge of historic buildings, and relied on a variety of investigative techniques. The main goal of the research was to analyze in greater depth the knowledge relating to the medieval arrangement of the church that was initially dedicated to the saviour (S. Salvatore in Corte), and the later transformations, with particular reference to the 18th-century configuration attributed to Gabriele Valvassori. The investigations were carried out in parallel with the performance of an in-depth study of the construction’s historical layers, and in particular through a laser scan and stereophotogrammetric survey as well as analysis of the visible masonry apparatus.
