"Newsgames" e "transmedia journalism". Come l’informazione può "giocare" un ruolo fondamentale nella società delle piattaforme

The essay aims to explore the opportunities and challenges of newsgames in the platform society, highlighting, on the one hand, the potential of this form of transmedia journalism as an effective tool in terms of spreadability and credibility; on the other hand, the critical issues, particularly regarding the ethical risks posed by the boundary – especially thin in newsgames – between the aims of journalism and those of other communication fields (notably activism and entertainment). Through the analysis of various experiences of newsgames, the essay identifies the essential characteristics that enable them to offer a "beyond journalism" perspective in their practices and interaction with the audience while remaining firmly "within journalism" from an ethical, professional, and value-based standpoint.
