The regular structure of the present historic center of the city of Manfredonia sees its origin in the foundation that took place at the wish of King Manfred. Work was interrupted at the time of the conquest by the Angevin ruler (1266) and continued a few years later with the completion of the most important road infrastructure, the construction of the port and the castle. The paper will attempt to understand whether the Swabian-era urban planning program was completed without some modifications.
