The text interprets the architecture of the brothers João and Aurélio Artacho Jurado as an expression of the bourgeoisie of Higienópolis in São Paulo, a social class that represents itself through an eccentric and hyper-chromatic aesthetic language. Reworking the model of the Unité d’Habitation, the Jurados transformed communal spaces into social infrastructures and conceived rooflines as autonomous sculptural devices, poised between self-aware kitsch and poetic tension. Their works outline an imaginary in which technique, artifice and nature merge, giving form to the identity horizon of an entire social class.

Il testo interpreta le architetture dei fratelli João e Aurélio Artacho Jurado come espressione della borghesia di Higienópolis a San Paolo, capace di autorappresentarsi attraverso un linguaggio estetico eccentrico e ipercromatico. Rielaborando il modello dell’Unité d’Habitation, i Jurado trasformano gli spazi comuni in infrastrutture sociali e concepiscono i coronamenti come dispositivi scultorei autonomi, tra kitsch consapevole e tensione poetica.
