This essay explores the concept of urban threshold spaces as zones of physical, perceptual, and symbolic transition between city and architecture. The São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP) is analysed as a case study where the elevated structure generates a shared urban void, returning public space to the city. The research focuses on the threshold as a space of encounter, where movement and permanence coexist, highlighting how exposed reinforced concrete mediates between architecture and social life, fostering inclusive and collective urban experiences.
