The paper investigates new practices for shielding the magnetic induction at power frequency radiated from underground high-voltage cables. We consider typical arrangements, i.e., cables directly buried or installed in underground concreteencased ducts. The shielding material is based on crossed grainoriented steel plates covered with aluminum tape supplied by industry. Due to its flexibility, the material is suitable for the design and realization of several shield geometries. The shielding effectiveness yielded by different possible solutions has been measured in a laboratory setup.

Abstract
The paper investigates new practices for shielding the magnetic induction at power frequency radiated from underground high-voltage cables. We consider typical arrangements, i.e., cables directly buried or installed in underground concreteencased ducts. The shielding material is based on crossed grainoriented steel plates covered with aluminum tape supplied by industry. Due to its flexibility, the material is suitable for the design and realization of several shield geometries. The shielding effectiveness yielded by different possible solutions has been measured in a laboratory setup.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
