The Delphi study for the competencies is part of the PhD research on the Registrar Profession in Italy. The study aims to highlight the registrar’s crucial role in collection management, particularly in movement and conservation, to enhance museum efficiency and sustainability (ICTOP 2008). Despite growing demand for multidisciplinary skills in modern, digitalized museums, Italian education remains largely theoretical, misaligned with job market needs. A stronger dialogue between the institution, professionals, and university is essential to shape future museum careers, supporting the renewal of European cultural institutions. The Delphi method offers a structured but flexible approach to defining the competencies required for recruiting, training, and positioning registrars within the sector.

Abstract
The Delphi study for the competencies is part of the PhD research on the Registrar Profession in Italy. The study aims to highlight the registrar’s crucial role in collection management, particularly in movement and conservation, to enhance museum efficiency and sustainability (ICTOP 2008). Despite growing demand for multidisciplinary skills in modern, digitalized museums, Italian education remains largely theoretical, misaligned with job market needs. A stronger dialogue between the institution, professionals, and university is essential to shape future museum careers, supporting the renewal of European cultural institutions. The Delphi method offers a structured but flexible approach to defining the competencies required for recruiting, training, and positioning registrars within the sector.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
