The 14th Coffee Break Conference takes “deep reading” as a shared way of truly listening to what Sanskrit texts are doing. Across diverse materials, contributors show how authors shaped, transmitted, and reinvented knowledge, sometimes in subtle ways that emerge only through close inspection. By treating reading as an active, reflective practice rather than a routine step in scholarship, the conference aims to refresh scholarly tools, highlight the small but meaningful details of textual construction, and open up the choices and intentions behind translations, interpretations, and historical contextualisations.
