Prosopografia di una famiglia osservante. Il convento romano di Santa Maria del Popolo e il suo Liber familiae (1473-1782): il secolo XVI

The essay continues the work of editing the Liber familiae of the Augustinian convent of Santa Maria del Popolo in Rome, the first part of which was published in vol. LXXXVI of Analecta Augustiniana in 2023. In this second contribution, the lists of friars belonging to the Augustinian community for the years 1501-1600 are transcribed. The 16th century was a period in which the Roman convent of the Augustinian Observant Congregation of Lombardy was affected by important architectural works commissioned by rich and powerful noble families, but also impacted by the devastation brought by the Italian Wars. The Liber familiae constitutes an irreplaceable source for understanding how these events influenced the religious community of Santa Maria del Popolo.
