The article retraces the Roman career of Leonardo Reti. The first focus is dedicated to the probable influences of Baciccio’s painting on Reti’s sculpture. A survey and new analysis are then conducted on the controversial relationships between the sculptor and his patrons. Emphasis is placed on his work as a designer and architect. New artworks are added to his catalog, while for others, considered stylistically inconsistent, alternative attributions are suggested: Girolamo Lucenti could be the author of the two marble angels in the high altar of Santa Maria in Traspontina; Francesco Cavallini could be the author of the stuccoes in the Aeneas room at Palazzo Altieri.
