The active participation of communities is essential to ensure long-lasting protection and conscious use of the landscape. Specific cases of the city of Rome (in the Appia Antica Park) will be examined, where concrete bottom-up experiences are taking place, aiming to understand how these can translate into new forms of governance for urban territories.
