In the 2023 excavation campaign at Sasso Pinzuto (Tuscania, VT) a new tumulus, called Tumulus 2, has been investigated. Tumulus 2 has a smaller size compared to Tumulus 1 and contains a hypogeal tomb composed of a transversal atrium and two chambers on the back wall. The tomb of Tumulus 2 had also been violated, but it yielded some finds which suggest that the tomb was built shortly after Tumulus 1, i.e. around the sec- ond quarter of 6th century BCE. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning the discovery of a few almost complete vases connected to the preparation, management and consumption of food. Particularly significant are an impasto cooking stand, a brazier with traces of cooking, and a bucchero crater. During the excavation of the circular trench of Tumulus 1, it was possible to discover a lot of fragments of revetment plaques, confirming the presence of sepulchral buildings in the area. The mould-decorated architectural plaques belong to the types found in the Etruscan settlement of Acquarossa with chariot procession, departing warriors, dance scenes and banquet (respectively types A, B, C and D). After having carried out prospecting with ground penetrating radar by the Department of Environmental Sciences of the University of Naples “Federico II”, a trench was opened in the area immediately north of Tumulus 1. In this area it was possible to identify four circular holes dug directly in the tufa, probably identified as funeral activities in relation to structures.

Abstract
In this area it was possible to identify four circular holes dug directly in the tufa, probably identified as funeral activities in relation to structures.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
