This paper concerns the preliminary results of the second excavation campaign (2023) conducted in the area of the necropolis of Monte Giove (Penna Sant’Andrea, TE). A test was made to understand the consistency and the extension of the necropolis and two new trenches have been open (Trench 3 and Trench 4). The excavation of Trench 4 revealed a three arms foundation wall built wih natural boulders without any visible traces of working. The boulders are of medium-large sandstone and are placed without binder, side by side and rarely overlapped to form a double row. Two arms are parallel and they are joined by the third arm which is rounded, giving the structure an almost apsidal conformation oriented N/E - S/W and open S. They seem to be the base of a structure and they rest directly on a dark brown clayey matrix layer containing several traces of vegetable charcoal (US 4020). The anomalous interruption that the arrangement of the sandstone blocks shows in the right and left arms could depend from the possible action of an abrupt and sudden landslide movement.

Abstract
The anomalous interruption that the arrangement of the sandstone blocks shows in the right and left arms could depend from the possible action of an abrupt and sudden landslide movement.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
