Digital papyrology e nuovi approcci analitici: per uno studio dei papiri ercolanesi della Biblioteca Nazionale di Napoli in una prospettiva di sostenibilità ambientale

The climate change crisis calls for the development of new methods to protect cultural heritage, driving the adoption of innovative approaches aligned with the principles of sustainable development. This focus is particularly relevant for managing the vulnerability of cultural assets and the factors of degradation threatening them. The EduceLab and GreekSchools projects, focused on the non-invasive conservation of Herculaneum papyri, are prime examples of applying advanced digital technologies. Through the use of technique such as tomography and microtomography, it is possible to read the texts without physically damaging them, reducing environmental impact. These projects demonstrate how digitalization can be a powerful tool for the protection and enhancement of cultural heritage, in harmony with sustainability.
