This essay investigates the poetic-literary production of the Opitergine humanistic environment of the sixteenth century, focusing on the Latin poems of Ottavio Melchiori and Gian Giunio Parisio. Through the analysis of unpublished texts preserved in manuscripts 1428 and 1438 of the Biblioteca Civica of Treviso, a dense network of exchanges and influences between members of the local intellectual circle emerges. In particular, the article examines the variation of certain original poetic motifs, such as the so-called “bridge theme”. The identification of possible textual attributions and the first publication and translation of three compositions offer new insights into the vitality of res publica litterarum opitergina, presented as a creative laboratory of the Renaissance, in which tradition and modernity merge.
