this paper presents some preliminary results of the University of Ferrara activities within the VALUE project in the area of the Roman villa of Bocca delle Menate, Comacchio (FE). Such investigations integrate different tools and different methodologies according to an holistic approach, in order to reconstruct the dynamics and relationships between the roman villa, the viability and the rural context in relation to the environment. A particular focus is given to the new data obtained through geophysical prospections combined with archival research and archaeological surveys.
