Tommaso Tittoni alla Conferenza di Pace di Parigi e l'Impresa di Fiume (agosto-novembre 1919)

The purpose of this essay is to retrace the last contribution offered by Tommaso Tittoni to Italian foreign policy, in the context of the first government chaired by Francesco Saverio Nitti, shortly before and during the first phase of the Impresa di Fiume. After having made a significant change to the Italian addresses towards the lower Adriatic with the agreements made with the Greek Prime Minister Venizelos, Tittoni proposed to the Peace Conference, from August 12th to October 27th, three reorganization projects of the eastern Italian border. Those proposals were punctually quashed by US diplomacy and by President Wilson, since in their elaboration and conception the Impresa di Fiume had a weight, an influence that in this examination we try to take into consideration.
