Within “fractured” contemporary Global Cities, based on the duality between rich and poor people, welfare state and public services have been dismantled by neoliberal reforms. By the way, in the district of San Lorenzo in Rome the experience of the popular after-school called the “Scuoletta” have been investigated by a non-participant observation and six in-depth interviews conducted between popular educators and neighbourhood inhabitants.
