Entre el culto a la feminidad y la reivindicación feminista: las revistas femeninas en Marruecos en la segunda mitad del siglo XX

The 1960s were a time of cultural and political change in Morocco which also saw the emergence of a new phenomenon in the Moroccan press: the emergence of magazines conceived by, for, and about women. Based on the idea that the study of these magazines is essential to understanding gender politics and to tracing the intellectual history of feminism in Morocco, this article addresses the development of Moroccan female press from its beginnings in the 1960s until the present time. The aim is to analyse, from a gender and feminist perspective, how these publications reflected the evolution of ideas about the role of women in Moroccan society and contributed both to perpetuate patriarchal stereotypes about women and to articulate the first feminist demands in Morocco.
