The purpose of this contribution is to analyze the emergencies of cultural heritage that are not widely known or ignored in the vast area, which spans from the middle valley of the Tammaro river to the nearby water basins such as the Miscano. It is an area whose road system shows an intense use in all historical times starting from the Samnite populations, then used and enhanced in Roman times. In this specific case, we limit ourselves to analyzing the small cave of San Michele in Casalbore that has undergone various uses over the centuries. The name of the saint warrior puts it in relation to the nearby San Michele in the current Municipality of Pag Veiano and which we will deal with in a future study. Of the cave of Casalbore we analyze the territorial context in which it fits. Subsequently, thanks to the digital detection performed, we can observe the first morphological evidence to draw some considerations. Certainly, it is not an exhaustive analysis, given the space that concerns the intervention, but it is our confi-dence that soliciting the knowledge and study of small realities almost unknown as this, can contribute to the stimulation of knowledge of the territories, rich as we know of particular and interesting realities of Cultural Heritage
