Multos consumpsi annos circa eius intelligentiam. Il Sarnese e il Commentario simpliciano alla Fisica di Aristotele

Giovan Vincenzo Colle, known as the Sarnese, after leaving the Neapolitan Studium, presumably from the winter of 1567 onwards stayed in Rome, where he took part in public disputes and worked on two publishing projects. One of these, begun while he was teaching the young Bruno, was printed posthumously in Venice in 1587 : the edition of the Simplicii commentaria on Aristotle’s Physica, with his final Annotationes and the many Digressiones distributed throughout the text. The other project, now lost, was a magnum tractatum terminorum, a philosophical lexicon which gathered the results of his textual investigations on Sim plicio and of which we can today indicate only one lemma : Analogia.
