Rosa Del Conte realizes that she occupies a “troublesome” position towards “official Romania” due to some statements made during the Conference for Cultural Relations between Italy and Romania (Milan, 1960). However, the dossier on Rosa Del Conte kept in the archives of the CNSAS reveals that Rosa Del Conte was considered a dangerous element even before by the Romanian Communist authorities. Suspected of spying for Italy, the Romanian authorities followed all Del Conte’s movements during her summer stay in 1956.
