Eco-acoustic Theatre

An Eco-acoustic Theatre (100) is a truncated-spherical architectural structure appropriate for listening three-dimensional reconstructions of authentic natural soundscapes and eco-acoustic compositions. It is comprised of: a support structure (1) that holds an external soundproof covering (2) and an internal sound absorbing paneling (3); terraces (7;107) of cylindrical concentric steps with decreasing or increasing diameter going upwards, built on grating; an annular screen (6) placed onto the internal surface as to surround the terraces; loudspeakers (4) embedded inside the support structure which convey distinct sound signals towards the terraces to reconstruct three-dimensional soundfields of acoustic ecosystems of primary rainforests (recorded or in streaming); projectors (5) fixed to the said support structure to cast towards the said screen a real-time spectrogram of the average sound signal emitted by the loudspeakers.
