Living in a country like Italy, characterized by a wide diffusion of architectures with historical and artistic value and, at the same time, by the frequent presence of natural and man-made calamitous events, makes particularly clear the need to define targeted risk control and prevention strategies, in order to ensure the transmission of cultural heritage to future generations. Because of climate change, conflicts and numerous calamitous events, prevention and risk mitigation are of extraordinary importance, especially at this moment in history. The development of transversal skills and technological tools useful for the management of complex decision-making processes; of systems able to ensure interoperability between platforms and multidisciplinary knowledge are essential to face such a challenge. From this point of view, the use of computer and informative tools is a key to interpret, analyze and catalog the detectable data as well as to choose the most effective strategy to be deployed before and during calamitous events which require the maximum speed, organization and efficiency of defense operations.
