Ronconi’s production left a deep impression on Bond, as it managed to raise methodological questions that had preoccupied the playwright throughout his entire career – questions that he now saw emerging so clearly from his play thanks to that interpretation. In particular, Bond referred to a distinction found in his own writings: that between set and site, a key classification in his dramaturgy. For this reason, he wro- te a long letter to Ronconi in which he expressed his appreciation, believing that Ronconi’s staging had brought to light fundamental questions about human reality in modern society – issues that contempora- ry dramaturgy had always engaged with, and which he now saw surface within his idea of “dramatic site.” The mix of impressions gathered during his stay in Milan led him to write to Ronconi: “Your production related to all these things. Drama seemed decent again”.
