Eight historical bows from Florence’s Galleria dell’Accademia were non-invasively analysed. Synchrotron X-ray microtomography identified their woods as Brosimum guianense, Caesalpinia echinata, and Manilkara sp., overcoming limitations of traditional microscopy on fragile surfaces.
