This letter proposes integrating solution-focused therapy (SFT) techniques (e.g., goal-setting, exception finding, and scaling) into cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) and other psychological treatments for insomnia. It argues that these strengths-based tools align with the periodic nature of insomnia and the field’s push for briefer, more personalized behavioral interventions. A call is consistently made for clinical trials that incorporate SFT components into standard insomnia care.

Abstract
This letter proposes integrating solution-focused therapy (SFT) techniques (e.g., goal-setting, exception finding, and scaling) into cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) and other psychological treatments for insomnia. It argues that these strengths-based tools align with the periodic nature of insomnia and the field’s push for briefer, more personalized behavioral interventions. A call is consistently made for clinical trials that incorporate SFT components into standard insomnia care.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
