This letter comments on the findings of the recently published Occupational Medicine study, "Doctors with Mental Health Difficulties and ADHD," by Perera and Al-Najjar. Recognizing the importance of the subject matter, this letter reviews some open methodological questions, such as the possibility of overlap between ADHD symptoms and those of other psychiatric disorders in medical doctors, as well as the feasibility of using the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS) Screener or similar assessment tools within this specific occupational population.
