SHARK-VIS is the new high-contrast visible-band imager of the Large Binocular Telescope. In this talk, I present observations in Halpha of the pre-main sequence stars CQ Tau and MWC 758 in the Taurus star-forming region, obtained during the commissioning of the instrument and aimed at searching for actively accreting protoplanets in formation within the disk around these targets. We achieve contrast limits in Halpha that are the best ever obtained in Taurus, providing a promising preview of the capabilities of SHARK-VIS.

Abstract
SHARK-VIS is the new high-contrast visible-band imager of the Large Binocular Telescope. In this talk, I present observations in Halpha of the pre-main sequence stars CQ Tau and MWC 758 in the Taurus star-forming region, obtained during the commissioning of the instrument and aimed at searching for actively accreting protoplanets in formation within the disk around these targets. We achieve contrast limits in Halpha that are the best ever obtained in Taurus, providing a promising preview of the capabilities of SHARK-VIS.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
