Serata di gala is an unproduced screenplay, and though its date is uncertain, it can undoubtedly be placed in the first half of the 1940s. Co-written with Paola Ojetti, it emerged from the cultural climate of collaborations with the magazine « Film ». De Céspedes and Ojetti imagine a story of personal growth and redemption set in the world of cinema, employing the mise en abyme of a ‘film within a film’, written – both with pen and body – by a now-established diva. This paper explores this work by examining its literary origins and the ways in which it navigates the relationship between writing, identity and performance.

Di datazione incerta, ma senza dubbio collocabile nella prima metà degli anni Quaranta, Serata di gala è un testo per lo schermo inedito firmato insieme a Paola Ojetti, che nasce nel clima culturale delle collaborazioni con la testata « Film ».
