Le fotografie di Tommaso Le Pera per Luca Ronconi

The article focuses on a selection of stage photos of performances directed by Luca Ronconi, shooted by Tommaso Le Pera in different moments and theatres, namely the photos for Orestea by Eschilo, Fedra by Racine, L’aquila bambina by Syxty, Quer pasticciaccio brutto de via Merulana by Gadda, In cerca d’autore. Studio sui sei personaggi by Pirandello. This selection, made by the photographer himself, originates from his famous archive (containing millions of shots) dedicated mostly to Italian performances starting from the Sixties and still in progress. With the aid of several interviews specifically organized with Tommaso Le Pera, the article provides detailed information and news about the circumstances of those shots, not neglecting the technics. Giving space to Tommaso Le Pera’s memoirs and by analyzing the photos selection and its semantic in connection with reviews, essays and Luca Ronconi’s statements about his own work, the article highlights their artistic relationship, lasted forty years.
