Abstract
There are many threads to trace and follow in order to reannotate, deepening the knowledge, themes, patterns and formal elements of the Roman reflection about the past and identity. There are objects and forms of collective memory to be identified, in order to evaluate the dynamics of development over time of the identity processes that underlie some readable manifestations, especially through the lens of the sacred and worship, that play a significant role in the evolution of Roman society and communities of ancient Latium. The analytical path suggested by the PRIN Space and Memory project. How places and monuments of memory built social and cultural identity in the first-millennium BCE Italy proposes to adopt the polythetical approach of an archaeology of cultural behavior. To redefine the search criteria, by defining not only a map of the physical and symbolic places of collective memory in Rome and Lazio, but above all, a model for analysing socio-cultural behaviour in the religious dimension, would allow to trace significant data for the analysis of historical and cultural processes related to the construction of memory in ancient societies. To do this, some lines of investigation can be identified, at least ideally, more promising: it is the mythical memory, the gentle memory, the historical memory (or the relationship between history and collective memory).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
