This paper explores the meanings of limit/boundary in Marcus Aurelius’ philosophical thought. After referring to the importance of providing a definition, the notion of limit is discussed with reference to both the ruling part or governing principle called hegemonikon and divine Nature. Finally, the relationship between limit and unlimited in the Meditations is understood against the backdrop of Roman Stoicism.
