Even the Minoan scribes treated as criminals! First results of an integrated palaeographic survey on the corpus of Linear A tablets from Phaistos

The paper deals with the Linear A documentation attested at Phaistos according to the new graphotechnic parameters already applied to the Linear B tablets by the team of the pa-i-to epigraphic project. The approach proves particularly fruitful and diriment for the understanding of Minoan scribal tradition in an archaic phase of its development. The paper addresses the issues of the writing behavior of the scribes of PH 2 and PH 6, on the the direction of traits of PH 11, on a hypothesis of scribal identification (PH 8 and PH 12), and on the cases of the reading direction of PH 14 and PH 9. Finally the application of a photographic technique (HDR) on tablets is presented
