Letter to the Editor Elisabetta Dell’Unto, MD1 , Francesco Panzuto, MD, PhD1 and Bruno Annibale, MD1 Am J Gastroenterol 2025;00:1. https://doi.org/ 10.14309/ajg.0000000000003519 We have read with great attention and interest the study “Serum gastrin levels are associated with prevalent neuroendocrine tumors in autoimmune metaplastic atro- phic gastritis” by Jove et al (1), recently published in the Journal. Identifying risk factors to determine which patients diagnosed with autoimmune chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) are more likely to develop gastric neuroendocrine tumors (gNETs), and, consequently, pro- posing stratification strategies and surveil- lance protocols is a challenge that many researchers are undertaking. To date, no conclusive literature supports such an ap- proach, and much of the ongoing research is shifting toward molecular biology to identify prognostic factors in this context
