Identifying risk factors to determine which patients diagnosed with autoimmune chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) are more likely to develop gastric neuroendocrine tumors (gNETs), and, consequently, pro- posing stratification strategies and surveil- lance protocols is a challenge that many researchers are undertaking. To date, no conclusive literature supports such an ap- proach, and much of the ongoing research is shifting toward molecular biology to identify prognostic factors in this context
