This study highlights the presence of Nicephorus Gregoras’ handwriting in two books: Vat. gr. 928 and Matrit. 4622. The first manuscript mainly contains works of Aelius Aristides along with scholia, while the second manuscript displays, in the section of interest, the scholar’s own writings. Both were written, either wholly or in part, by scribes associated with Gregoras, thereby offering an insight into the production and the circulation of books within the Chora monastery. This analysis gives further notice of the close connection between scholarly activity and manuscript transmission among erudite circles in the palaeologan era.

Abstract
This study highlights the presence of Nicephorus Gregoras’ handwriting in two books: Vat. gr. 928 and Matrit. 4622. The first manuscript mainly contains works of Aelius Aristides along with scholia, while the second manuscript displays, in the section of interest, the scholar’s own writings. Both were written, either wholly or in part, by scribes associated with Gregoras, thereby offering an insight into the production and the circulation of books within the Chora monastery. This analysis gives further notice of the close connection between scholarly activity and manuscript transmission among erudite circles in the palaeologan era.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
