Here we discuss next-generation imaging (NGI), primarily prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT, to improve the diagnosis and management of advanced prostate cancer. While offering higher sensitivity and specificity than conventional imaging, NGI faces challenges such as high cost and limited availability [1]. We will debate the optimal integration of NGI with existing methods and its impact on patient outcomes, highlighting the need for further research to establish its long-term effectiveness and cost-effectiveness. The role of artificial intelligence in enhancing NGI capabilities will be explored, along with the importance of standardized protocols and collaborative efforts between surgeons, oncologists, and radiologists. Ultimately, the aim is to use NGI to achieve a more precise, personalized, and equitable prostate cancer treatment.
