Nell’hinterland di Sibari. Territorio, insediamenti e paesaggi “indigeni” tra Ferro e Straface

Recent intensive surface research in the territory of Amendolara has made it possible to propose a reconstruction of the peopling process in this area between the Iron Age and the end of the Imperial Age. Comparing the picture of Amendolara with that of other territories on the fringes of Sibari/Thurii/Copia, different contexts and histories emerge with very few points of contact (the reflection on both territories of the emergence of urban poles and the structuring of the rural production system at the beginning of the Imperial Age) and much greater peculiarities within ‘regional’ spheres.
