In Aristotle’s view, the universe is a finite, totally corporeal, and locally qualified extension: it has an up and a down, a right and a left, a front and a back. The paper sets out to identify the reasons for this theory, down to its basic principles. To do so, it tackles, among others, traditional issues such as those of place, natural place, and natural motion, proposing new interpretations thereof.

Abstract
In Aristotle’s view, the universe is a finite, totally corporeal, and locally qualified extension: it has an up and a down, a right and a left, a front and a back. The paper sets out to identify the reasons for this theory, down to its basic principles. To do so, it tackles, among others, traditional issues such as those of place, natural place, and natural motion, proposing new interpretations thereof.File allegati a questo prodotto
