This contribution aims at outlining the figure of the Roman architect in the first and second centuries AD, to understand – where possible – the training underpinning their design, citing the personalities of Rabirius, Apollodorus of Damascus, and lastly, Decrianus, and the works attributed to them, which likely had the greatest influence on the architecture of the High Imperial Age.
