Federico Fellini often referred to the weekly comics magazine "Corriere dei piccoli" as an essential source of inspiration in his artistic career. This is evident from his radio-plays, filled with talking animals, caricatures, painters and poets looking for fortune, and paintings coming alive. They were heavily influenced by a few of the characters found in "Corriere dei piccoli", as well as references to "Marc’Aurelio" editorial staff and the memory of Fellini’s friendship with the screenwriter Ruggero Maccari, with whom he wrote his radio-plays. Through these examples, our contribution aims to reflect on the influence the ‘civilization of the image’ had on the development of Italian culture through different media.

Abstract
Federico Fellini often referred to the weekly comics magazine "Corriere dei piccoli" as an essential source of inspiration in his artistic career. This is evident from his radio-plays, filled with talking animals, caricatures, painters and poets looking for fortune, and paintings coming alive. They were heavily influenced by a few of the characters found in "Corriere dei piccoli", as well as references to "Marc’Aurelio" editorial staff and the memory of Fellini’s friendship with the screenwriter Ruggero Maccari, with whom he wrote his radio-plays. Through these examples, our contribution aims to reflect on the influence the ‘civilization of the image’ had on the development of Italian culture through different media.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
