The paper focuses on Vat. lat. 3199, in relation to Dante’s ‘Commedia’, that has the only marginal note for this manuscript in Petrarch’s own hand, a new reading of which is proposed, and twelve marginal corrections to the text, also by Petrarch, which are published and commented on all together for the first time. The article proposes a new hypothesis as to when and how the manuscript was read by Petrarch.
