Taking for granted that Mario Dal Pra’s monography on Greek scepticism is a significative step for anyone who wants to study that ancient philosophical movement, this contribution aims at highlighting the importance, and at the same time some limits, of his methodology and praxis as historian of philosophy, by especially concentrating both on his reconstruction of Democritus’s alleged dualism between appearance and reality and more generally on the sceptical attitude that one should presuppose behind that opposition.
