The recent discovery of documents offers the opportunity for a critical review of the work of the architect Gaspare Guerra (1560 ca. - 1622), born in Modena and active in Rome with his brothers painters and decorators Giovan Battista and Giovanni, between the pontificates of Sixtus V and Paul V. The focus will be on the churches designed by him (church of Sant’Andrea delle Fratte in Rome, cathedral of Ripatransone). In this respect will be highlighted, in his work, the continuity with the sixteenth century architectural culture, but also the openings to future developments of the early baroque architecture
