Abstract
The existence of manly deeds of Šuppiluliuma I, recounted by the king himself, has been assumed for a long time based on a few small fragments (CTH 40.VII). Still, we ponder to what extent the ‘Deeds’ narrated by his son owe to the alleged annals of Šuppiluliuma I. KBo 22.54 is one of several undiagnostic finds unearthed in Ḫattuša. Some of these fragments might hold the key to understanding the historical events at the dawn of the reign of Tudḫaliya III’s successor. Despite the extremely fragmentary state of conservation of KBo 22.54, the study of its preserved content, palaeographic and linguistic features aims at providing some glimpses for a re-assessment of the written tradition around the deeds of this king. It underscores the importance of even the most seemingly insignificant Hittite finds .I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
