In the thought of Wittgenstein the notion of «Naturgeschichte» constitutes an important junction: for some it would be a decisive piece of the so-called third phase of its production; «natural history» is certainly a close relative of the concept of «Lebensform». What Wittgenstein means by the expression is, however, an open question. Dissolving this knot may perhaps clarify the salient features of the «anthropological approach» of Wittgenstein (Hacker 2013: 114) and help us understand if the philosopher’s thought can be accused or not of «historiophobia» (Glock 2006: 281).
